Chocolates are love and well you can’t resist them. They are heaven on Earth, the fruit of paradise and we really want to say thanks to the creator of chocolate for they have opened the doors of paradise for us. It does more than just provide the taste; it uplifts your mood and takes away all the tensions and problems. Now imagine; you printing your very own chocolate at your home. Seems strange, somewhat foolish, no? No! 3D printing folks! Did we not tell you how 3D printing was going to revolutionize our lives? It would seem as if the time is upon us.
Hershey’s needs no introduction and it is joining forces with 3D Systems in order to create a 3D printer which will be able to solve almost all of the problems by printing chocolate. For both companions, this heavenly operation is like a chance to progress and make advancement. According to Hershey’s, the 3D printer would benefit it by working as a delivery system which will be more efficient and much faster. 3D Systems is pinning its hopes on the fact that this approach will ensure that 3D printing technology gets more recognition in the masses.
Hershey’s Head of Research and Development Authority, William Papa said; ‘Whether it’s creating a whole new form of candy or developing a new way to produce it, we embrace new technologies such as 3D printing as a way to keep moving our timeless confectionery treats into the future.’
3D Systems is not new to this field of 3D printing food. It even manufactured the ChefJet 3D Food Printer at CES 2014. This particular printer is able to print objects while employing sugar. Other than 3D Systems there are other such companies out there which plan on seizing the 3D printed food market and includes Foodini as well which has achieved the milestone of printing of pizzas and ravioli. Why are we talking about already manufacture printers? Because they can be modified, installing some additional specialized parts, and they’ll be able to print chocolate!
As of now, we do not have a release date or the price tag details with which this brain child of 3D Systems and Hershey’s will be available. There is still not much news on whether the printer will be working on an industrial scale or will be made available as a consumer unit.
