A sad day for all the Princess Leia fans; Carrie Fisher has joined the force at the age of 60. The famous Star Wars actress suffered a heart attack that led to her death.
She fell ill on a flight that was going from London to LA on Friday. She was taken to hospital after the plan landed. Her family has stated with profound sadness that she departed on Tuesday morning. Apart from her well-known portrayal of Princess Leia in Star Wars, she also worked in The Blues Brothers and When Harry Met Sally.
Spokesman Simon Halls says, in a statement that was released on behalf of Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd, “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8.55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
