Every now and then we are presented with a gadget that is so calming to look at that we just can’t take our eyes off of it. One such gadget is Globis Charging Station that is currently raising funds on Kickstarter. It has been introduced by Universal Creation AB – an over 4 year old Swedish product engineering company that is based in Stockholm.
Globis Charging Station is the solution to your cable mess and is capable of rapidly charging up to 6 devices while its safety systems keep you and your gadgets safe. It is the result of Danish design and Swedish engineering. This gadget is challenging the idea that a charger needs to be hidden away. It does so by focusing on the fact that in order for a charger to be useful, it needs to be readily accessible and in a central position. However, for that to happen; it needs to be aesthetically pleasing, right?
Enter the Globis Charging Station featuring the spherical design that allows it to work as a contrast piece while also being a discreet detail in your environment. The gadget is capable of adjusting the attached cable lengths by housing portions of the cable inside it. So, although a number of device might be charging simultaneously; there’s always order.
The Globis Charging Station has been constructed using only the best quality materials. It is energy efficient while being a non-contributor of waste to the consumer products industry. It has been built using solid gravity die-cast aluminum. Using aluminum allows for a pleasing appearance while offering a tactical advantage; enhanced cooling effect thus allowing for power conservation. A structure of high quality flame-resistant plastic is used on the interior for keeping the components in place. The gadget rests on non-scratching disc of silicone that prevents it from sliding around.
Globis Charging Station can charge 6 gadgets simultaneously and each USB port is capable of handling the unprecedented 2.8A with a maximum of 65 W total. The gadget features a two-step power conversion structure; first, AC from wall outlet is converted to DC (with lower voltage) via an external power adapter. Secondly, a custom built converter provides the desired voltage for USB charging at a stable level.
The gadget has been designed while keeping the safety in mind and each component (adapter, internal converter and each USB port) features over voltage detection, short circuit detection and over-temperature detection. The high voltage is kept out of the charger thanks to the external adapter.
If all goes well, the gadget will be delivered to backers well before Christmas. We are really interested in this amazing charging station, are you? Check out the Kickstarter campaign for Globis Charging Station.
