5 Pictures that Shocked the World: Volume 2
We previously wrote an article under the same title that you can see here in which we showcase 5 pictures that were really shocking. This article is an extension of the previous one and hopefully move your heart same as before.
The falling man by Richard Drew:
On 9/11 many of the people inside the structure were forced to jump out to avoid fire and explosion. This picture was taken by Richard who went there to cover the happenings and ended up taking this shocking photo.
Lynching of young blacks by Lawrence H. Bietler:
These young men in the photo were punished for raping a white girl, only it was a lie and nothing of the sorts happened. This Photograph was used to show the Diplomacy of Whites during that age.
Tiananmen Square by Stuart Franklin:
The picture is not less than an icon in our recent history. It shows a man standing in front of the tanks in protest. He stopped a column of T59 tanks.
La Jeune Fille a la Fleur by Marc Riboud:
Taken by Marc, the picture became the symbol of the Flower Power Movement. The woman was protesting against the Vietnam war.
Crawling kid by Kevin Carter:
Kevin cover the Sudan famine in 1993 and took this picture of a vulture waiting for the kid to die so that it could eat the child. Kevin received harsh comments and treatment for not helping the child. He later committed suicide and his note read:
“I am depressed … without phone … money for rent … money for child support … money for debts … money!!! … I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings and corpses and anger and pain … of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners … I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky.”
