A Geek Built Jetpack To Avoid Golf Carts
In case you have ever golfed in your life, then you might be familiar with how much fun driving around the golf carts are. If they are wheel-based, then although they are a blast to drive, they do have some limitations. For example, you cannot take them on greens or on wet fairways, therefore Bubba Watson, a professional golfer decided to solve this problem. Working together with Oakley, the world’s first jetpack golf cart was created by them. This jet pack cart is capable of flying upwards of 3,000 feet, you know, for those hard to reach shots. Take a look at the crazy video below:
A 210 HP engine that directs power to two fans is used to power the jet pack. These fans are capable of boosting the machine to speeds of 46 miles per hour. According to Bubba the jet pack golf cart will be a game changer in the industry by providing an unfair advantage through bird’s eye views of the course. In the past, Bubba and Oakley teamed up in order to build a golf cart hovercraft, which may prove to be a better alternative than the jet pack. The hovercraft keeps golfers firmly planted close to the ground while also making no impact on the grass underneath. Check out the video below to understand the mechanism of that machine.
No matter how you feel about golf, you need to acknowledge that both of these machines are quite inspiring. Can you imagine being out on the course and seeing someone fly by with their bag on the back of a jet pack? Although golf is usually a noiseless game, however the noise generated from the two ducted fans is expected to increase the noise level just a notch. Golf will be included in the Olympics for the first time in 112 years. Don’t miss the opening ceremony and all of the events beginning August 5th.
