New Open-Air School To Provide Free Education To Underprivileged Children In India
The underprivileged children who are not able to afford attending a school, free education is being provided in a school in India. The school has been founded by Rajesh Kumar and is offering free education to about 80 children living in the surrounding slums.
A negligible government is maintained in India that that largely overlooks the educational instructor, thereby leaving a lack of standard education to millions of children. Kumar takes hours out of his day in order to teach the children in the morning every day, hence making an effort to provide a form of education. Worried and upset to see children playing in a construction zone when they should be in school, Kumar, who is 43 year old, considered it his responsibility to give the children a chance at education.
It became very clear that no one was bothered, after checking with the parents, that there was a lack of education or any formal education system. So, Kumar planned to open a new open-air school between the pillars standing underneath the rails of Delhi Metro.
Nominal supplies are available at the school which include blackboards painted on the walls with a few polystyrene foam placed on the rubble. Despite the lack of supplies and the continuous screeching of trains looming overhead, the children attend the school regularly.
Generous donations were received by the school recently from anonymous donors who made sure that the children receive cardigans, books, shoes, and other stationery tools to give them a chance to write.
According to Rajesh,
“It’s most important to inspire these children to study and give them an opportunity of an education. I will be fortunate even if two out of 20 study further. I will feel satisfied that I contributed to their future generations.”
You must be familiar with the fact that children have a natural curiosity that leaves them with a desire to learn. But, a governing system that has dispossessed them of education and has fundamentally failed the young minds of tomorrow, it has become the responsibility of the people to make arrangements for the provision of education to a lot of people across poorest regions in India.
By gaining international public attention, several people around the globe visit the school in order to provide education across numerous areas including math, reading, and writing. The volunteers are also working to assist the students to get admission into formal schools, thereby giving them yet another chance at success. At present, hundreds of underprivileged students are being provided the education who attend the school regularly.
Although, a new beginning is being marked by the school in the right direction to the few students who are capable of attending, the governing body must take steps to reform its educational system so that education can be provided to the millions of other that are still deprived of their natural will to learn.
