The latest pictures from the set of Marvel Studio’s Eternals in England show Angelina Jolie in blonde hair and a robe scattering ashes in the lake and fans are psyched to see her as one of the Eternals, most probably Thena.
At San Diego Comic-Con’19, Kevin Feige, Marvel Cinematic Universe’s creative caretaker, officially announced the big-screen adaptation of John Kirby’s Eternals as an addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 films. The anticipated-flick will be following MCU’s Black Widow as the second film of the Phase 4. The star cast of the film was revealed in the same event which includes Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Gemma Chan as Sersi, and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight.
Production of the film is underway, set for release on November 6, 2020. It is claimed to be a deviation from the signature marvel movies fans have seen so far.

The Eternals, a group of humanoids rendered immortal by Celestials, the cosmic gods, have sworn to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. And Jolie as Thena is a fantasy come true for all hard-core Marvel fans. A super-powered, near-immortal being in the shape of Jolie with an ability to manipulate cosmic energy to protect humanity against the forces of the evil is what every marvel fan dreamt of growing up.

Eternals also marks Jolie’s debut in a superhero film and fans can’t contain their excitement, turns out neither can Jolie,
I’m so excited to be here. I’m going to work 10 times harder because I think what it means to be a part of the MCU, what it means to be an Eternal, to be a part of this family, I know what we all need to do. We have all read the script. We have all know what the task ahead is and we are all going to be working very, very hard. I’m training. I am thrilled. Thank you so much.-Angelina Jolie
The Mistress of Evil: Maleficent also expressed an interest in joining the STAR Wars franchise after the panel on Eternals.
“Talk to J.J. [Abrams]. I cornered J.J. in the hallway. I have said to him, ‘I have no idea why I can’t be in Star Wars.”Jolie in an interview with MTV news
Let’s hope this is true as well and we get to see Jolie in the Star Wars Universe too!
Later, Angelina’s The Eternals co-star, fellow Oscar winner and Frida star Salma Hayek shared her own-behind-the-scenes photo with Kit Harrington aka Jon Snow and frankly, the caption says it all.
Salma will be seen as Ajak in the film, a gender-swapped version of the character of the group leading the genetically-engineered immortal super-humans, the Eternals, in the comics while Kit is playing the role of the super-hero, Black Knight.
Kevin Feige also lived up to his promise of introducing more diversity in across the sexuality spectrum in the MCU. Recently, on Good Morning Americe, Kevin announced that another one of the main male characters in the movie will be openly gay.
“He’s married, he’s got a family, and that is just part of who he is,” Feige explained.
And like this wasn’t enough to get the regular Marvel audience’s fandom hyped up, Minn-Erva from the Captain Marvel, Gemma Clan will be seen as Sersi, making her the first actress to play dual-characters in the same universe! Woo-hoo double treat!
