Hello there and welcome to the day after Apple’s annual iPhone launch event. This year Apple has introduced the iPhone 11 to the world with three variants. We have iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. But that is not all though; Apple has also introduced a 10.2-inch iPad.
This year’s event was all about camera upgrades along with battery and speed boosts. Just like 2018, you have the choice of picking up from three new iPhone models. The labels have been changed a bit from 2018 though. The standard 6.1-inch iPhone 11 is priced at $699 and is the direct successor to the previous iPhone XR (Apple will be continuing sales for it).
iPhone 11 Price
The lowest-priced 2019 iPhone variant will get you a dual-lens 12MP + 12MP rear camera that features an ultra-wide lens capable of effectively creating a 0.5x zoom for getting more into the frame. Six colors are being offered; black, white, purple, yellow, green, and red. The next variant is the 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro that has been priced at $999 and the 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max that has been priced at $1,099. These are the respective successors to the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max.
iPhone 11 Specs
The 2019 iPhones have an enhanced and higher resolution display along with a triple-lens rear camera. Apple also claims that you can expect a 4-5 hours boost to battery life as opposed to the previous models. Thanks to the extra lens at the back, you can enjoy a 2x optical zoom along with an improved photo and video quality. Apple has also introduced a fancy trick where you will be able to record two 4K video streams simultaneously using apps that support this nifty feature.
All of the new iPhones feature a special Night Mode for making sure that pictures taken in low light conditions are improved. All three will be featuring the latest A13 Bionic processor by Apple. It is the fastest CPU in a smartphone up until now as per Apple. However, Apple has not given any numbers about A13 Bionic processor that would help us quantify just how quick from the previous processors it is. Pre-orders for iPhone 11 will commence on September 13 while the shipping and in-store availability are slated for September 20.
iOS 13 & New iPad
The iPhone11 will be running the latest iOS 13 software that will be available to everyone in the coming days. A dark mode theme has been introduced, and new editing tools for videos and images are also promised along with a plethora of other tweaks. Coming to the iPad that has been unveiled at the event, it measures in at 10.2 inches and has been redesigned so that it is more compatible with clip-on keyboards. The price remains the same, $329.
Apple Arcade – the mobile game subscription that was first announced in March – has been given a full launch. You will have to pay $5 per month following a free trial, and you will be able to enjoy a variety of games. The feature will be incorporated into the App Store from September 19.
