Once you finish reading this, you’ll wish you were ten years old again, sleeping in your bedroom with a night light on. We’ve come across a new product call Aumi, created by Mitch Thompson, a Bluetooth enabled, multi-color, rechargeable LED night light that you control with your phone.
Night lights are normally pretty boring and aren’t accessible via parent’s smart phones. The Aumi night light offers a next generation connectivity. It can be recharged as well as providing a rainbow of different lighting effects to choose from. The Aumi project is current seeking funding on the Kickstarter crowd funding website, hoping to jump from concept to production.
It allows users to operate it with their smartphones. You can turn the light on or off, choose from over 16 million color options, set it to automatically turn on when dark, set timers to dim or turn off, use the aluminum bezel or the app to adjust the brightness, get notifications such as texts or c alls, have Aumi stay on when the power goes out, unplug and use it as accent lighting. It’s easy to set up. Simply plug it into any outlet, download and install the free app and start using it. The Lipo battery will provide up to 10 hours of portable lighting.
This new age night light, packed with a Bluetooth chip and a rechargeable battery changes everything around you. Your night light just became another connected smart home gadget with endless possible functions. You can pre-order Aumi for $35. All orders are set to ship in December. For now the product is limited to the U.S. and Canada only.
