Meet Choupette – The Word’s Second Richest Cat
Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel and Fendi pampers his cat to such an extent that it could be called the world’s richest cat.. if it weren’t for the Grumpy Cat. Choupette, his prized pet is a gorgeous white cat that he loves to bits! His own words: “There is no marriage allowed between humans and animals.. I never thought I would fall in love with a cat.”
Choupette just recently earned over three million dollars from just two days of modelling. And she has two personal maids, a privet jet and.. an Instagram account. Now that’s class! Her Twitter has a whopping 100,000 followers!
Choupette starred in Japenese cosmetics brand’s Shu Uemura ad campaign, and for a Opel Corsa car calendar that landed her the three million euros. If her picky owner, as he claims himself to be, had allowed Choupette more jobs, she could have earned even more. “I don’t allow her to do foodstuffs and things like this. She’s too sophisticated for that,” Karl explained.
Choupette is as picky as her master. “She hates other animals and hates children,” says Karl. “She stays with me always and has two personal maids. They play with her, they have to take care of her beautiful white hair, the beauty treatments for her eyes, and they entertain her. She is the center of the world. If you saw her, you would understand.”
Karl is so taken with his feline friend that he cannot stop professing his love for her. “There is something unforgettable about her, the way she moves, the way she plays. She is an inspiration for elegance. For attitude.”
Karl and Choupette live in the same house, and eat and sleep together. Choupette has an exclusive entourage that cares for her. Her diet includes liver pate, chicken and fresh fish, prepared specially by her personal chef, and bespoke mineral water made from the blend of Swiss, Swedish, British and German water by LeWater Bar Colette in Paris. Her food is served in custom silver platters made by French luxury goods company Goyard.
French restaurants don’t allow pets but Choupette is an exception. La Voltaire restaurant, on the banks of the Seine, prepares for her their special ‘Choupette’s Eggs’ which is a concoction of chopped boiled eggs with fresh mint, and Cafe De Flore serves her ‘Croquettes a la Choupette’.
No wonder I want to reincarnate as Karl’s cat next time around.
