You’ve all heard about Tesla Motors, right? The company that Elon Musk is heading and the same one that’s pushing the limits to the next level with its amazing geeky team working day and night to make the impossible become possible. However, not many of you will be aware of veteran toy maker, Radio Flyer. Get ready, because this toy maker has made a deal with Tesla Motors to create a Tesla Model S for kids.
Yes, a Tesla Model S for kids that are 3-8 years old is a real thing and the single-seater will reportedly feature a maximum speed of 6mph and shall be able to cover 6 miles before requiring a charging session. The amazing car will be the first vehicle for kids to feature FlightSpeed Li-Ion batteries. The batteries take about three hours to charge and car comes with its own charging port that the young and proud owners can use for charging their ride. The battery pack can also be taken out and charged separately.
The duo promises young drivers a drive-time of 1-2 hours with the standard battery pack (6 miles) and a drive-time of up to 3 hours with the premium battery pack (9 miles). The Tesla Model S for Kids will feature two speed modes along with a reverse. The first mode will help the cute car along with its driver reach a speed of 3 mph while the next mode is for serious drivers who wish to take it up a notch to 6mph.
The car weighs a total of 18kg and comes equipped with functional headlights, onboard sound system that can be connected to a music player, storage under the hood and 9-inch diameter, 4-inch thick wheels. The car offers a variety of colors to select from while Radio Flyer has promised an ‘authentic Tesla Model S premium paint finish’. Buyers will also be able to select rim color and can even have a personalized license plate and parking sign added to the car.
