Our today’s article is on one such device that will ensure security of your data and other digital belongings that you don’t want anyone else to get a hold of.

myris is a device that looks like a mouse but in actuality is a iris-scanning device that allows identity authentication of user. This naturally is likely to improve the security many folds and of course no need to remember different passwords for different accounts.  The devise uses video to scan over 240 different point of iris and create a 2048-bit signature. After this the user only has to hold up the device and look into the lens for the device to scan and authenticate the user after which the user can easily access the digital data.

The applications of the device vary from online banking to e-commerce website to social networking sites and beyond. The device does not transmit or store any data rather just authenticates and then forgets the data i-e the scanned iris. The device can be connected through USB. According to officials from EyeLock, the firm behind myris (partnered up with Voxx Electronics) said that the odds of a false ID via myris are 1 in 2.5 trillion and that only DNA can provides a more accurate means of verification. myris is expected to be available to consumers this year and will be compatible with Windows 7 and 8, Mac OS and Chrome OS. Pricing details have not yet been announced. Official further told that its the first device manufactured by the company that is relatively simple enough for common consumer. EyeLock was established in 2006 and since then they have provided iris-based identity authentication solutions to organizations, including Fortune 500, 100 and 50 firms.
