Amazing VR Headset by HTC and Valve
Virtual Reality is the next big thing in the tech industry. Following in the footsteps of Samsung, Sony and Microsoft, HTC has jumped on the bandwagon and unveiled a developer version of a Virtual Reality headset marketed as HTC Vive (also doing the rounds as HTC Re Vive).
HTC has collaborated with Valve to create a virtual reality headset that it claims provides a “truly immersive virtual reality” experience.
The headset boasts a 1,200 x 1,080 resolution in each eye, giving a crisp visual experience to the user. With a 90 fps refresh rate, it falls in line with top VR headsets on the market. The headset has a jack to its side for earphones to give you a personalized virtual environment experience.
It includes multiple sensors, including a gyrosensor, accelerometer and a laser position sensor, that are able to track your exact location, not just the head, when coupled with a Steam VR base station. These sensors are functional in a 15 ft. x 15 ft. area. This way, it even lets you walk in your virtual reality environment!
HTC is offering a pair of motion-controlled wireless game controllers with the head set to track a user’s hands and allow interaction with virtual objects to create a truly dynamic virtual experience.
The developer edition will be available this spring, but a consumer version is currently set to be released by the end of 2015.
