It needs to Rain for You to Enjoy This Seattle based Artist’s Amazing Street Art
Science creates an incredible waterproofing agent and what does an artist decide to do with it? Paint!
Peregrine Church, a Seattle-based street artist uses Alway Dry™, a super hydrophobic spray to paint the streets with art that only emerges when it rains.
By creating invisible art on the streets of Seattle, he lets his masterpieces come to life when it rains. Calling his art “Rainworks,” he says, “It’s the.. ideal Seattle art”.
Seattle experiences heavy rainfall and public is surprised by funny messages on wet streets. Church uses stencils to spray paint his way through Rainworks and, display written messages as well as rainy depictions on sidewalks. He’s even created a hopscotch game, but you can only play it when it rains.
Church creates spontaneously, as his work is considered legal – the coating is non-toxic, non-permanent, temporarily visible, doesn’t advertise anything, and is incredibly heart warming!
