PancakeBot – Wait, What?
Yes you heard that right. Here comes the Pancakebot that let’s you print pancakes right from your computer. The Pancakebot draws on a griddle – its ink: pancake batter! Delicious pancakes in ALL shapes and sizes. Literally!
It started out as a passionate project by a father for his daughters. He set out and succeeded to develop a LEGO Pancake machine for them, which won considerable fanfare at the World MakerFaire in New York. Following its huge success, Miguel Valenzuela, the creator, decided to evolve his design into a finer specimen, giving the world the Pancakebot.
This beauty is a batter dispensing system that traces out a design on a griddle, in the exact sequence a user draws on the accompanying inteface. Users can trace out images, cartoons, monuments, literally anything from their computer through the included tracer software. The dispenser than releases batter on to the non-stick griddle per the same tracing sequence, drawing a delicious pancake cum art master piece! Colour the pancake manually through colored batter, flip and it is ready to be gobbled!
The developers explain: “…using a combination of compressed air and a vacuum, the PancakeBot controls where the batter is dispensed. Onboard controls let you fine tune the dispensing of the batter as it glides over the griddle.”
The Pancakebot can prove as a valuable asset to organizations looking to sensationalize crowds through their “edible” logos. It isn’t going to be any less fun for parties, family gatherings and children’s birthday parties! Think themed parties and pancakes to match.. Yum!
The system includes:
- An Interface & screen to select image
- SD card slot for saving designs once traced; use anytime!
- Batter flow pressure control
- Print with the griddle off or removed
- Pause/resume printing
- Easy to clean
- Removable griddle
- User manual with batter recipes
The Pancakebot is collapsible for storage and comes with tutorials and custom pancake styles. Print size is around 16.0″ x 8.3″.
