The Mariana Trench is the deepest point on Earth and it is not humanly possible to dive down and scout the whole area. So scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are sending down a rover to survey the whole area from the relatively shallow underwater mountain tops to the over 6 miles deep valleys.
The rover is set to be sent into the abyss on 10th July, 2016 but the good news does not end there for all the underwater and sea creatures’ enthusiasts. The host ship is equipped with a high speed internet connection so the whole dive of the rover will be broadcast on the internet via live stream and you can see all that it discovers from the comfort of your home.
