Science Can Be Weird, Strange And Scary

Seeing this video, the reaction “go back to the hell from which you came from, you devil’s snake!” is totally justified. Unless, of course, you know something about the experiment, or chemistry as you might say. This is actually a rapid exothermic reaction when Merucry(II) Thicyanate is subjected to enough heat. The effect is known as  Pharaoh’s serpent or Pharaoh’s snake, and rightly so. The compound itself is toxic and should be handled with care.
