The New Jaguar XE: Better-Connected by Far
Sophicated. Luxurious. Status. Refined. All these words are synonymous with JAGUAR. The car that needs no introduction. The car that tops all the rest, just got better. Scheduled to be fully unveiled on September 8th in London, the 2016 Jaguar XE will bring new meaning to the phrase “Connected Car”.
The new Jaguar XE compact premium sports sedan will come with a new smart infotainment system called InControl. An 8 inch touchscreen will provide quick and easy access to all features and function. Everything will be voice activated so drivers will never have to take their eyes off the road. The new smartphone connectivity feature can integrate Apple and Android apps into the car. Also being a mobile WiFi hotspot means users can connect with the car from anywhere in the world…..and you thought The Knight Rider’s “Kit” was cool. An optional laser Heads-up Display (HUD) will project high contrast, color images onto the windscreen as well, keeping the driver up to speed with navigational instructions, traffic sign notifications, and cruise control settings. Dr. Mike Bell, Jaguar’s Global Connected Car Director, explains “simplifying your connected experience, without compromising your interactive options, the new XE is a technologically advanced step forwards you’ll want to take”.
It wouldn’t be a Jaguar without some nifty secret agent gadgets. The Jaguar’s InControl Remote smartphone app allows owners to activate door locks, start the car, track its location, and preset cabin temperature all from a remote location. The car’s smart technology also allows users to access their smartphone apps via the screen, meaning you could find the nearest petrol station, a parking space or book a hotel room while on the road. So if you’re a Jaguar fan look out for this upcoming smart car which will launch a new era of Infotainment.
