Bogi Fobian, a Hungarian artist, paints with UV paints to create glowing murals that transform rooms into a dreamscape!
Her art is multi-faceted – quite literally. Her paintings exhibit multiple looks under different (or no) sources of light. She does create murals that aren’t visible in daylight at all, but some of her work combines multiple effects to create three kinds of art in one; a typical painting in daylight, a glowing mural in UV light and yet another phosphorescent painting in complete darkness.
She defines her passion eloquently, “.. I have always been inspired by cosmic phenomena, and by the beauty of landscapes on our planet seen from above. And I made it my goal to bring these different patterns together visually in order to point out their actual connectedness and closeness!
I did so by creating several layers on top of each other and gave them the desired direction, but in the end I let physics and chemistry move the different materials to the perfect place. Just like in nature… I dedicated the full size of my canvas to both motifs, and it’s always up to you, what you want to see in any given moment.”
Her work transforms from Amazonian riverbeds to a profound view of galaxies just by switching the light. Many of her landscapes are visible in UV light to create an exclusive look whenever you choose to see it.
Fabian’s aim was to create a form of art that wouldn’t need energy to be viewed, so she developed a personalized technique to create art that could be seen even in the dark. Her work are rechargeable paintings that can glow in the dark for up to 50 minutes. Take a look at her unique murals:
