The camera flash on our smartphones nowadays are more used as a flashlight instead of a normal camera flash. And needless to say it does solve the problem as it is bright enough. But the directional light is not of much use usually in dark places. But with the addition of Travelamp, one can make the most of their smartphone camera flash as this allows the camera flash to be used as an impromptu bedside lamp or as a nightlight.
Sebastiano Tosi and Mattia Fossati designed this gadget named as Travelamp, which is a copy of the traditional lamp or lantern but is molded out of durable silicone. It comes with a simple strap that allows the user to attach their camera flash to the lamp in such a way that the strap is positioned over the camera flash. This allows the light to be diffused upwards and outwards, hence no more directional flashlight.
Measuring only 2.1 x 2.3 x 3.7 inches (5.3 x 5.9 x 9.3 cm), the Travelamp caters “most of the small to mid-sized smartphones.” This makes the Travelamp capable to join the user on most of their travels, acting as a small lamp that can help them illuminate their camps at night, as long as they have a means of charging their smartphones on a frequent basis. As prolonged use of camera flash drains battery quickly. Other than that, the Travelamp is the best solution available for anyone looking for an emergency/ travel light.
Travelamp can be pre-ordered for just US$8 and will be available around October for purchase.
