World’s First Additively Manufactured Production Titanium Pen “P22” Is Here
Well, if you were looking for a magnificent pen produced from aeronautical grade titanium, your luxury dreams have turned into a reality with this latest titanium pen.
A crowdfunding campaign has been started by Pagnotta Design in order to market and sell their unique writing instrument which is the world’s first additively manufactured production Titanium pen as per them. This pen has the following features:
-Shape: the smooth body of the pen is suggesting a drop of a liquid in motion or a sensual Brâncusi sculpture.
-Ergonomic: it can be held ambidextrously anywhere along its unique “pinch” points and has optimum weight and balance.
-Performance: the pen has a marvellous writing experience due to its tiny body and capless Schmidt P 8126 cartridge system.
-Green Technology: almost zero carbon footprint is created via additive manufacturing which results in up to 95% less waste as compared to conventional pen manufacturing processes.
-Next Generation Metal 3D Printing: Highly complex componentry for aerospace, military, and Formula One applications were used to be produced using Electron Beam Melting.
-Unique Textures: the pen is available in Satin (highlighting titanium’s natural warmth), and Mirror (showcasing a smooth, reflective polish).
-Limited Edition: every pen is engraved with logo and unique serial number using laser.
In addition to putting forward an ergonomic design which feels as though the pen morphs to the shape of the user’s hand, the purpose of designing this pen was to produce something that is capable of seizing a person’s attention immediately.
Hundreds of hours have been spent by Pagnotta Design in order to design and develop P22 in addition to thousands of dollars for its prototyping. Almost US$1,000 are spent in the production of a single pen.
The successful launch of P22 on Kickstarter is a game changer as it is giving fans the opportunity to buy this innovative pen at a fraction of the cost (prices start at US$170). The crowdfunding campaign of P22 concludes on 22th July 2016.
